Words to Live By

If I had my child to raise all over again,
I'd build self-esteem first, and the house later.
I'dfinger paint more, and point the finger less.
I would do less correcting and more connecting.
I'd take my eyes off the watch, and watch with my eyes.
I'd take more hikes and fly more kites.
I'd stop playing serious, and seriously play.
I would run through more fields and gaze at more stars.
I'd do more hugging and less tugging.

Oh my gosh!! Are you serious???You ACTUALLY have a blog?? I thought this day would never come! I'm so excited to be in touch with you now!!!

By the way, I can't think of exactly what "running incident" you're referring to...I've had so many:) Every time I decide to run it is just a disaster. So remind me of which one you're talking about--

it may be the nearest we ever came to a fight in all our years.... i remember you telling me we must stop and me yelling back to you that we had to just make it 20 minutes and then you could have a break and then when we did stop you really were kind of mad and i felt really controlling and mean:)

I seriously do remember that...I'm not surprised that the closest we've come to a fight was over running. I can get very worked up about it:) You know how some people cry after they cross the finish line of a marathon because of what they've just accomplished? I cried when I crossed the finish line of a 10k (that I only did because Marc begged me to do it with him for months). Isn't it sad that a 10k was as big of a deal to me as a marathon is for other people?

I love the quote Britt. I may need to read it a few times a day to remind myself...
